The Boot Tree

I took this picture on my way back to Dampier from the mine. The tradition is to throw your boots up into the tree on your last day of work, a gesture to the idea of never coming back. In these conditions the boots never seem to rot, although cyclone season may make a difference. I'll be keeping an eye on the number of boots and will update the photo should anything change.
